Celebrities like her (and McDonalds) are the reason for the incredibly bad self-image many American women have. Even though most people know that these images are carefully manufactured (read: photoshopped), it's still hard to ignore.
Face it, the reason pop music sucks today is that it is mainly driven by visuals. You can't just be a good singer nowdays... you have to look good in the video. People buy music more because of what they see than what they hear. And thats because there are people like Beyonce that are so interesting to look at that it changes the game.
